OTHER NEWS:

NOTRE-DAME-DE-LAUS:

Will be reaching soon our members in the northern portion of Poisson Blanc to try to organize a new section of our Association which would have it’s own Vice-president since their reality is different then in the southern portion of the lake.

EMERGENCY SERVICES:

I had a meeting with Denholm asking them to conclude a deal with Bowman to include the property owners in the Bowman area of Poisson Blanc in the emergency phone alert program to be in service in 2020;

Also held a meeting with the municipality of Notre-Dame-de-Laus to be officially included in the emergency flooding warning list and also in Brookfield Energy list;

For LSM, discussions will be under way starting in September. We have two members who will be working on this project including Benoît (VP for Brochet lake).

WATER LEVEL ON POISSON BLANC:

Usually at this time, we start receiving complaints about the fluctuating level on the reservoir. We have explained the present situation on our website. In summary we must look at the bigger picture, we are 300 riparian property owners on this reservoir… our reservoir is used to produce electricity in conjunction with other regional reservoirs for more then 7 million clients from Montréal, Ottawa, Gatineau to the Thousand Isles. Presently, Jeff, our VP for Newton Bay, is responsible of this file. Latest scoop, we have Larry & JoAnne who want to help Jeff!

Further information can be found on our website: https://lacpoissonblanc.ca/water-levels-on-the-lake/

ISLAND WATCHDOG COMMITTEE:

Our new signs are up on the islands thanks to Ray coordinator of our Island Watchdog Committee.

LAC BROCHET:

water level control of the beaver dam

The members of the Association of lac du Brochet had a meeting to decide how to divided the costs of phase 2 of their beaver dam project. Another meeting is schedule by mid August.

BOWMAN SECTOR:

As said previously the Base de plein-air, Bowman and us shared costs for the installation of two signs at the municipal boat launch in the southern part of lac Poisson Blanc;

Sadly the police patrol is not as constant as promised on weekends. We will have to contact them again.

NEWTON BAY & NEWTON LAKE:

Thank you to the municipality for changing and installing our new road signs that were vandalized last autumn.

As requested by our members, we paid for printing and installation for 4 new signs on Grand-Poisson-Bland Rd to raise awareness about SPEEDING.
