HOW? By INTERAC (e-payment)! The question would be: What is the name of the big lake? The answer should be (in one word): poissonblanc. Our email address for the transaction: abv.poissonblanc@gmail.com

Do you want to actively participate in our ASSOCIATION?

Becoming a member or renewing your membership!

Life goes on at the lake, so even if all our committees are working on a individual basis we still have to pay our bills.

Presently, we spend money for:

  • 8 new yellow buoys with the necessary equipment to install them;
  • Membership dues for the organizations we are part of;
  • Replacement parts for our safety orange buoys on Poisson Blanc;
  • Envelopes and mailing stamps for our correspondence;
  • Paper and ink to publish our newsletter to those who don’t used email.

Other material will have to buy soon:

  • More yellow buoys;
  • Signs for our security on the roads;
  • New signs to explain the purpose of the yellow buoys;
  • Garbage bags and other stuff for those involved in the monitoring of the islands
  • Gas mileage for our president when working for us;
  • A new welcoming sign to replace the old one in the Bowman sector.
PLEASE HELP US FINANCIALLY BY RENEWING YOUR MEMBERSHIP OR BEING PART OF OUR TEAM BY BECOMING A MEMBER!

A new service for our members that cannot go to their property!

Helping one another!

We are here for you .. Marcel suggested that we offer to keep an eye on your property while you’re away. We can move things around to give the impression that someone is around and send you pictures or videos to reassure you or to provide proof that your trip here is for valid repair reasons. Your tax account and pictures can help you when you’re coming through a checkpoint. Already, four members have used our services. If you would like someone to visit your property, please contact us at:

abv.poissonblanc@gmail.com

You can contact directly Marcel Prevost or Carla Monette via Facebook also!

IN THE NEWS!

In Bowman:

Linda is doing a great job in making sure the concerns of the owners in that area are heard. Since the past two years we have being meeting the municipality and also the Base to better manage the main boat launch of the Poisson Blanc. Slowly but surely the Base and the municipality are getting more involved in our lake management.

Pierre & Linda will be having a meeting with the GM of Bowman, the President & Director of the Base on June 8th!

At Brochet lake:

Monique is doing a great job. All the money was collected and now can proceed with phase 2 of the Beaver Dam Project when the situation will permit it.

In Newton Bay:

Jeff is doing a great job participating in the different committees working in the bay area. We have found all the original documents of the legal procedures that where done in the 90’s (thank you Andrée-Lise) and we have receive a answer from the water level decision makers that every member has received. We should be warned, in advance, if sudden modification of water levels are expected and Jeff and his committee will continue with their involvement with the government to stabilize the level in September.

At Newton lake:

David is doing a great job in reaching to every member in his area for their concerns and developing a specialty as a negotiator. THANK YOU DAVID for your introspection since this winter.

VOLUNTEERING, WHY NOT ME??

BEING PART OF THE INVASIVE PLANTS COMMITTEE on LAKE POISSON BLANC

Our new sign
The BIG problem starting at Poisson Blanc:
Eurasian Watermilfoil

Where?

What is it?

WANT TO HELP US IN KEEPING OUR LAKE FREE OF INVASIVE PLANTS?

By adopting one or more yellows buoys during cottage season! You would be responsible to install (spring) and remove (fall) your yellow buoys in the same way as our orange buoys and keep them in a safe place during the winter.

10 cm It’s so easy!
Want to be responsible of one or more yellow buoys? Contact us by phone (leave message in voice mail box) 819-712-1210 or contact us via email: abv.poissonblanc@gmail.com

BEING PART OF THE ISLAND WATCHDOG COMMITTEE ON LAKE POISSON BLANC:

WHAT IS IT? WHAT CAN I DO?

A great way to educate your kids or friends to be aware of our actions and there consequences on nature! This is a environmental project in cooperation with the Regional Park and the «Base de plein-air AIR-EAU-BOIS» and not a permanent reservation for a camping site !

Your commitment is to visit the site you have chosen once or twice a month to see if there is a problem of any kind. WE give you garbage bags to clean up a camping site, if any, that you dispose in a garbage bin. You should bring a shovel to bury «excrement» if any. Look for any tree cutting or mischievous behaviour and report it if any.

Take a look at our page concerning this project: https://lacpoissonblanc.ca/islands-watchdog-committee/

AM INTERESTED IN DOING MY PART FOR WATCHING THE ISLANDS!

BEING PART OF THE SECURITY (orange) BUOYS ON LAKE POISSON BLANC

WHAT IS IT? WHAT DO I DO?

If you know of a dangerous rock pile or other hazard marking it with a security buoy is a good way to help our community. By adopting one or more orange buoys during cottage season! You would be responsible to install (spring) and remove (fall) your safety buoys and keep them in a safe place during the winter.

AM INTERESTED IN DOING MY PART HELPING TAKING CARE OF A BUOY!
